Dr. Jose P. Leviste Jr., is the Chairman of OceanaGold (Philippines), Inc. (OGPI) and Member of the Board of Directors of OceanaGold Corporation (OGC) in Melbourne, Australia, which is listed in the Toronto, Australian, and New Zealand Stock Exchanges. OGC has operating mines in New Zealand and is operating the new Didipio Gold and Copper Mine in Nueva Vizcaya. OGPI is currently initiating exploration activities in Surigao del Norte.
Joey is the Chairman of Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Co. of Manila (AG&P) in Bauan, Batangas, an industrial process outsourcing (IPO) company providing fabrication and assembly, modularization and asset management services to the oil & gas, mining, power and civil infrastructure sectors.
He serves as Chairman of Constellation Energy Corporation, an emerging developer of renewable energy resources focusing on hydro in Nueva Ecija, geothermal in Mindoro Oriental, and wind in Negros Oriental.
Dr. Leviste is the Chairman of Pacific Rim Innovation Management and Exponents Inc., the top Philippine Consulting Firm of the Asian Development Bank for Technical Assistance Projects from 2008 to 2012 and 2009 to 2013. PRIMEX operates and has operated in 30 Asia Pacific Developing Member Countries of the Asian Development Bank.
He is Chairman and CEO of Enactus Philippines, which is affiliated with Enactus International, an international non-profit organization in 36 countries that works with leaders in business and higher education to mobilize university students to make a difference in their communities while developing the skills to become socially responsible business leaders and entrepreneurs. He wants to strengthen Enactus Philippines links not only in the Asia Pacific region but also with South and Central America.
Dr. Leviste is Chairman of the Asian Corporate Network (ACN), which provides critical and corporate insights about local and regional business throughout the Asia Pacific Region for its Philippine clients. He is Chairman of the Philippine–Spanish Business Council (PHSPBC), Resident Representative of the Australia Philippines Business Council (APBC), Director of the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines, and Governor of the Philippine Constitution Association.
Joey is Primo Consiglieri of Italpinas Development Corporation (IDC), that develops green sustainable buildings in emerging cities. Its flagship project is Primavera Residences, an eco-friendly mixed-use development located in Uptown Cagayan de Oro in Northern Mindanao. The project recently won in the 2014-2015 Asia Pacific Property Awards for Best Mixed-Use Development in the Philippines held in Kuala Lumpur.
Joey is Asia Advisor of the Board for the Philippines of Sindicatum Sustainable Resources of Singapore, which focuses on funding and developing bagasse-based co-generation plants, biomass and landfill projects in ASEAN, India, and China.
He is an independent Director of Pico De Loro Beach and Country Club in Nasugbu, Batangas, independent director of Investment Capital Corporation of the Philippines (ICCP), Senior Adviser to Cardno Emerging Markets Services (Philippines), and an independent Director of PTFC Corporation, a publicly listed company in the Philippine Stock Exchange. He also serves on the Advisory Board of AES Philippines, a subsidiary of the global American Power Company.
Joey is a Member of the Governing Council of the Philippine Council for Agriculture Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) upon the appointment of the President of the Philippines, Benigno S. Aquino III.
He is the Vice-Chairman of the Center for Philippine Futuristics Studies and Management, Inc. (Futuristics Center), that promotes futurism and future studies as a discipline.
Dr. Leviste completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (with academic honors) from the Ateneo de Manila University in 1965 where he was Student Council President. He holds two Masters degrees: one in Economics from Fordham University, New York in 1967, and another in Business Administration from Columbia University, New York in 1968. He completed the Pacific Rim Management Program, Doing Business in Japan, at the University of Southern California, USA in 1986. He was a Fellow of the Asia Program of the Woodrow Wilson International Center in Washington DC in 1987 and a Business Associate of the Asia Pacific Research Center of Stanford University in 1995. He received his Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa from the Nueva Vizcaya State University in 2007 for being an Outstanding Businessman and Technocrat.
Joey was selected by BizNews Asia, the country’s largest weekly business and news magazine as one of the Management Excellence Awardees in November 2014. He has been on its list of 100 Most Powerful Filipinos since 2006.
He travels extensively to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Singapore, the ASEAN, Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Spain.
